HOWARD TAKES FIFTH IN VERNAL!

VERNAL, UTAH (August 22, 2009) Price, Utah IMCA Modified driver Harvey Howard made the trip to the Diamond Mountain Speedway in Vernal, Utah to earn some more IMCA points for the Utah state championship and the track championship in Vernal, Utah. Howard started the night off by starting in the fourth position in his heat race. Howard would finish in the second spot in his heat race. By finishing second and making the invert from his heat race, Howard would start in the tenth spot in the feature. Howard moved to the third spot quickly then the high side groove wore out which he then was past by Paul Peterson and Don Hardinger. Howard would end his night in fifth. Howard plans to run in Vernal once again for their invitational race on Labor Day weekend.

HOWARD MAKES BOTH MAINS IN CORTEZ!

CORTEZ, COLORADO (August 14 & 15, 2009) After finishing well at the Diamond Mountain Speedway in Vernal, Utah the weekend before, Harvey Howard of Price, Utah made the trip to the Fairgrounds Speedway in Cortez, Colorado for the EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour Northern Series show to try to stay in the top twenty. Howard drew well as he started in the fourth spot in heat race six with him on the pole with some fast cars in his heat race. He had Brandon Carley and Ricky Alvarado in the heat race with him. Howard would finish in the fourth spot in his heat. Then he had to run in the B-Feature. Howard started in fourth and then he hung on to finish in fourth making the the feature. Howard then was seen starting in the twenty fourth spot in the feature. Howard made progress through the field to finish in fourteenth. Howard advanced ten spots throughout the night. The next day, Howard did not draw so well. Howard started in the fourth spot in heat race six. Howard would finish the heat out with a second place finish and advancing to the main event. Howard drew a twelve which meant he would start in twelfth. Howard spent his main running the high side battling hard with the cars around him. Howard would finish the night off by finishing in thirteenth position. Howard now will make the trip to the Diamond Mountain Speedway in Vernal, Utah.

HOWARD TAKES SECOND IN VERNAL!

VERNAL, UTAH (August 8, 2009) IMCA Utah points leader, Harvey Howard of Price, Utah made the trip once again to the Diamond Mountain Speedway in Vernal, Utah where he is the points leader at Diamond Mountain. Howard has made multiple trips to Vernal this year so he knows how to get around this place. The track was rougher than usual as you can see mounds in the track when you pulled into pits. Howard went out and hot lapped on the track to see if it was raceable or not. Howard decided to race the heat race, Howard jumped to the lead quick and laps were winding down as Justen Yeager of Green River, Wyoming past Howard with only a few laps left in the heat. Howard finished in second spot in the heat race. Howard started the main and he jumped near the front of the feild and would battle hard with Yeager and Paul Peterson for the top three spots. Howard would end the night in second place. Good points weekend for Howard. Howard plans to run at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Cortez, Colorado for the EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour Northern Series show.

HOWARD HAS ROUGH WEEKEND IN PRICE!

PRICE, UTAH (July 31 & August 1, 2009) Harvey Howard of Price, Utah made the trip back to his own track at the Desert Thunder Raceway in Price, Utah. Harvey won the heat race which he would make the invert to the main. Howard would start in the sixth spot and would run in the third spot for a long time until his transmission gave up on him sending him into the infield for the night. Howard then put in another transmission and ran the next day. Howard made the invert from the heat race to a good starting position in the feature. Howard would have problems and finish in the seventeenth spot. Howard plans to run the single day show in Vernal, Utah next.

HOWARD TREKS UP TO ROCK SPRINGS!

VERNAL, UTAH (July 25, 2009) Harvey Howard of Price, Utah made the trip to the Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyoming to try to stay in the top 20 for the EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour Northern Series to be in the showdown at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway in November. Howard drew well as he drew a number that put him on the outside pole of heat race number five. Howard would race hard but he fell back to the fifth spot but Howard managed to win the B-Main by almost a half a lap after starting in sixth. Howard would then start in fourteenth but then would manage to finish in seventeenth. The next day Howard did not draw as well as he did Friday night. But he managed to make the invert from the heat race after starting in fourth. Howard then had to start in seventh and would race hard but would come home in eleventh spot. Howard plans to run at the Diamond Mountain Speedway in Vernal, Utah. He is the points leader there and he is leading the IMCA Utah state points as well.

HOWARD HAS TOUGH LUCK IN PRICE!

PRICE, UTAH (July 3 & 4, 2009) Harvey Howard of Price, Utah made the trip to his own track to the Desert Thunder Raceway in Price, Utah to earn some points. Harvey currently leads the 2009 IMCA Utah State point standings by close to 100 points. Howard would not make the invert out of the heat race but he would start near the rear of the field and work his way to finish in the ninth spot in the feature. The next day Howard would not make the invert once again as he would start near the rear of the main again. Howard would make his way through the field until coming out of turn two and his steering box would lock up and it sent him down the track and he would get hit multiple times which ended his night in the eighteenth spot. But, you may see Howard make the trek up to the Sweetwater Speedway in Rock Springs, Wyoming for the WWMT Northern Series to try to make the top 20.

HOWARD TAKES SECOND IN PRICE!

PRICE, UTAH (June 12 & 13, 2009) Harvey Howard of Price, Utah was seen in action at the Desert Thunder Raceway in Price, Utah. Howard would start on the pole in the sixth heat race but would be seen finishing in fourth. He then lined up fourth in the third B-Main and then would battle hard to finish in second. The main event line up had Harvey Howard starting in eighteenth position. Howard moved his way to finish in fifth. The next day, Howard started in third and then finished second in heat number two. Howard then started fourth in the main event and battled hard with Aaron Spangler and Justen Yeager to finish in second. Howard now plans to go to Vernal, Utah for the June 20 weekend.

HOWARD RUNS WELL IN VERNAL!

VERNAL, UTAH (May 15 & 16, 2009) Harvey Howard travelled over the hill from Price, Utah to the Diamond Mountain Speedway in Vernal, Utah for the EQ IMCA Wild West Modified Tour Northern Series show. Howard would be seen in heat race number two in the fourth starting spot. Howard moved his way to a third spot and would be on the pole for the B-Feature. Howard was just about ready to go run his B-Feature until the power had went out on the race track. Howard would have to wait until the next day to run his B-Feature. Howard would end up leading the first lap and started to fall back but, he did not fall far as he battled for the third and fourth spot in the B-Feature. Howard ended the race in third place and in the show. The main started as Howard would be seen starting in the twentieth position and would get as high as fifteenth. Howard would finish in the fifteenth position in the first main. The second main, Howard drew good as he led the heat until Ricky Alvarado took away the point from Howard, but, Howard finished in the second spot which is still a main event transfer. Howard would draw a number three. Howard jumped to the race lead early in the feature but, by halfway through the race, his car just went away as he started losing spots. Howard would eventually end up in the nineteenth spot.

HOWARD RUNS IN PRICE OPENER!

PRICE, UTAH (May 8 & 9, 2009) After letting his motor go the weekend before, Harvey Howard trekked to his own track in Price, Utah at the Desert Thunder Raceway. Harvey would first start the night off by not drawing very well which would put him in the back of his heat race. Harvey raced his way to a tranfer spot for the invert for the top twelve starting spots in the main event. Howard would then be seen lined up right next to Bryan Hughes in the twelfth position. Howard would race his way to the forth position until the handling of his car had went south and would later spin in turn number four. Even though he had spun, Howard rallied his way back to the eighth position. By the next day, Howard would be seen in the second heat race. He battled to get into the invert. Howard made the feature and he would be seen starting in the fifth spot and would end up finishing in the seventh position. Howard now plans to hit the tour race in Vernal next.

HOWARD STRONG IN VERNAL!

VERNAL, UTAH (May 3, 2009) After coming up short the weekend before, Harvey Howard decided to go for it again as he made the trip to the Diamond Mountain Speedway in Vernal, Utah for the second week in a row. Howard would dominate his heat race and was ready for the main event. Harvey has some history at this race track as he got his first IMCA feature win and became the first WWMT pole winner at this track. Howard would line up in the fifth spot. Howard would eventually make his way to the second spot. Howard was a rocket until his motor let go. Howard will now be making the trip to the Desert Thunder Raceway in Price, Utah. Harvey's crew was his Mom and Dad, his son Wyatt, and friend Marty Bruno and his daughter, and Richard Oliver.

HOWARD GETS RUNNER-UP IN VERNAL OPENER

VERNAL, UTAH (April 25, 2009) Harvey Howard of Price, Utah made the trip to the Diamond Mountain Speedway for their 2009 season opener, Howard would lead the main event until the last restart where Brian Ungaro went under Howard and stole the race win away from Howard.
