STEPHENSON REGAINES POINTS LEAD IN OLATHE!
OLATHE, COLORADO (August 15, 2009) John Stephenson Jr. Of Grand Junction, Colorado made the trip to the Thunder Mountain Raceway in Olathe, Colorado this weekend. A low car count forced Stephenson to only race against seven cars. The track was reconfigured as Olathe changed a few things in turns one and two. It changed the racing lines so it took Stephenson awhile to figure out the new lines. Stephenson was down on power in the heat race and managed to finish in sixth. Started seventh in the feature and would take the points lead again by finishing in third. The top four were there at the end. Anyone could have won the race. The car got faster at the end so, maybe next weekend. Stephenson is still not sure how the power came back to the motor from the heat race to the main. Stephenson plans to run in Olathe once again this weekend.

STEPHENSON COMES HOME IN THIRD!
OLATHE, COLORADO (May 30, 2009) A crazy night at the Thunder Mountain Raceway in Olathe, Colorado was held on May 30, 2009. The points leader at the Thunder Mountain Raceway, John Stephenson Jr., Lined up for the heat on the outside front row. Stephenson got out and led and then got passed by former track champion, Dwain McCarty. He had something pucking out of his car that was way slick!! Jetman, backed away from him and pretty soon he pulls off which puts me back in the lead. John would go on to score his second heat race win in as many weeks!! The main had Stephenson lined up in ninth spot. Tried 3 times for a good start. People were wrecking all over the place and trying to win in first lap. Managed to stay out of most of the troubles having to use the infield as an escape route a couple times. Car ran well and Stephenson was able to bring it home in decent shape and a 3rd place finish.
STEPHENSON TAKES HOME SECOND IN OLATHE!
OLATHE, COLORADO (May 16, 2009) John Stephenson made the trip to the Thunder Mountain Raceway once again for their regular IMCA Weekly points show. Stephenson started outside front row for the first heat race. The track was watered right before the heat went out. After trying to pack in the greasy slime that was created they had a one lane track for most of the heat. On the start Stephenson fell into second and rode around following the leaders trail. The leader slipped a tiny bit and John took a shot and passed for the lead. Stretched out and won the heat race. Stephenson set up his car for the main and got to start on the pole. Led up to halfway with a caution filled main. Black flags were shook at alot of cars. At halfway a car came up and door slammed Jetman and sent Stephenson nose first into the wall. Weird thing was the yellow was out when that happened!!! Stephenson figured night was over but after tow truck got me squared up John figured out that the car might not be hurt to bad. Tow truck set me down on front chute, I strapped in, flagger told Stephenson that he was going to be able to keep his spot in the lead and the guy that took me out would go to the back. Off we go, tie rods and wheels bent he was able to keep the lead until 2 to go when Stephenson got passed for the lead. Came home second.
